Robert Glenn Ketchum - Awards


•  In 2002, Robert Glenn Ketchum was given a Lifetime Achievement Award
in Photography and Conservation by Aperture Foundation. The award was
presented during Aperture’s 50th Anniversary Celebration in New York city.
•  In November 2001, Ketchum received the Robert O. Easton Award for Environmental
Stewardship from the Community Environmental Council of Santa Barbara. Fellow
awardee for the evening was singer/songwriter, Kenny Loggins.
•  In September 2001, Aperture released Ketchum’s newest book, Rivers Of Life:
Southwest Alaska, The Last Great Salmon Fishery. Fuji Film, USA is sponsoring
a national traveling exhibition of the work and Aperture will manage the
itinerary.
•  Ketchum was named 2001 Outstanding Photographer of the Year by the North
American Nature Photography Association (NANPA).
•  Ketchum was also named the Outstanding Person of the Year for 2000 by
Photo Media magazine, the largest inter-industry publication in professional
photography.
•  In September of 2000, Ketchum was given the Josephine and Frank Duveneck
Humanitarian Award for 2000 by Hidden Villa, a 1,600 acre farm and wilderness
preserve in Los Altos Hills of northern California which engages children and
adults in hands-on, innovative programs promoting environmental awareness and
multicultural understanding.
•  Ketchum was also published in portfolio, “images beyond THE NAKED EYE.”
Produced and distributed by the German organization, Artists For Nature, the
signed, limited edition portfolio also includes work from 26 internationally
recognized photographers including Sebastiao Salgado, Duane Michaels and
Sarah Moon. The images are the artist’s visual responses to global warming. A
traveling exhibition of the prints is currently circulating European venues,
and the premier exhibit was held at the Museon in Den Haag, Holland during
the global warming conference 2000. To date the portfolio has been exhibited
in: Helsinki, Finland; Den Haag, Holland; Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and
Hamburg,Germany; Athens, Greece; and Istanbul.
